Indie and Mae Skincare Review
Recently I was sent a gift box from Indie and Mae, a gorgeous New Zealand skincare brand made with 100% natural ingredients. If you used to read my old blog, you might know that I’ve used natural skincare for years and years now, and the older I get the more drawn towards natural ingredients I become. When Indie and Mae reached out to see if I was interested in trialling a few of their products, I jumped at the chance as I had seen this beautiful brand on Instagram and loved not only their ingredients but their ethos too!
They kindly sent me four body care products, including their newest addition… the Sweet Orange Body Butter. Here’s my thoughts on each product…
Sweet Orange Body Butter
I love a good body butter and this one is no exception. It’s beautifully thick and hydrating without feeling greasy on the skin. I tend to apply my moisturiser before I get into bed at night and my pet peeve is my moisturiser coming off all over the sheets - this one definitely doesn’t do this, it absorbs right away and I can jump into bed without any moisturiser marks everywhere! If you are a citrus/fresh scent fan, you’ll really enjoy this smell. It’s fresh orange but warm and inviting at the same time, and I feel like it’s a really calming scent - perfect for before bedtime! Shop this one here.
Rose & Peony Body Polish
This natural body polish is completely natural and free from microplastics. It’s formulated from pumice powder, which works to smooth and exfoliate the skin and natural oils like sweet almond and shea butter to hydrate the skin. I’ll be honest, I haven’t used a body polish in forever and I forgot how satisfying the feeling of exfoliated & smooth skin is! It’s also a great product to help prep for tanning to ensure a streak-free application. I love to use this on my ‘everything shower’ night, and then apply the Sweet Orange Body Butter right after for the most amazing smooth and soft skin. Shop this one here.
Coconut & Lime Hand Cream
I use a lot of hand cream thanks to having to wash my hands one million times a day after changing nappies and making bottles. My hands get so dry from the constant washing and hand sanitizer, so I’ve been loving this coconut and lime hand cream to help soften and smooth. The scent is really fresh and as someone who loves coconut, I really enjoy this one! It’s a super hydrating hand cream which absorbs easily, meaning you don’t have to worry about greasy finger prints everywhere! Maybe it’s just me, but I hate having hand cream prints all over my phone! A little of this goes a long way, which is a winner if you go through it as much as I do! Shop this one here.
Energy Cleaning Spray
If there was ever a product you need some days as a mum - it’s this one! 😅 This is an energy cleansing spray and it’s infused with rose quartz (the stone of love and balance), as well as lavender, geranium and sage to help you relax and support you emotionally. To use, simply spray around yourself, in your room or on your pillow for instant calm. I’ll be honest, this spray works so well. Anytime I feel a bit overwhelmed or frustrated (which let’s be fair happens a decent amount of time as a mum to two), I spray a couple of sprays of this and honestly, you feel instantly calmer. I’ve started calling it my magic spray and I’ve even used it in Jack’s room to help him unwind too. If you feel tense or overwhelmed, I honestly recommend giving this one a try! Shop this one here.
Overall, I have to say I’m super impressed with this NZ made brand. The products are truely beautiful and you can tell they use top quality ingredients in each one. My standout product? The Body Butter - I’m obsessed!
